Thanks for advice on the mouse mats. I'm glad you were able to find the heavy rubberized style with the fabric surface. I was not going to by another batch of those flimsy plastic mouse pads from the other place.

How do I select a promotional products company?

Most promotional product manufacturers are printers that have the ability to print on certain items. There are thousands of businesses claiming to produce promotional products so as with all purchases, do your research, if you select a local company it may provide a more personalized experience. Although many companies may advertise a variety of items if they do not have the required equipment they will subcontract the work to a partner company.

Typical art formats accepted by Promotional Products Companies?

To be sure you will need to contact the company you are dealing with but the following formats are typically accepted:
Adobe Illustrator Vector Art
Adobe Photoshop .eps files

What is an Overrun or Underrun?

Most printers will produce an extra %5 - %10 of the items ordered to account for possible print issues. In most cases the customer is responsible for the cost of the extra pieces. An underrun is the rare case in which fewer items are produced.

Why a Minimum Order?

Most printers will set a minimum number of custom items to make sure the job is profitable.

Why Set-up Charges?

The printing of a logo on an item may require the production of many custom items that may not be used again.

I need my item by a certain date?

Be sure to let the printer know you have a drop dead date. If the request is not outrageous it will accomodated provided you are willing to pay for the cost of a Rush order.

The depression of an image into a materials surface.
Emboss
A raised image is impressed on an items surface. Hot Stamp
The pressing of a heated stamp on an items surface to creat an impression.
Etching
The production of an image on a surface by using acid.
Die-casting
Injecting molten metal into the cavity of a carved die (or a mold)
Die-striking
An impression made on a metal sheet sheet by a metal stamp or hammer.
